About us
Searchingfortruth is a blog dedicated to delving into the realms of science and theology to uncover the truth in our modern world. Our goal is to provide insightful content that challenges perspectives and encourages critical thinking.
Hi, my name is Bob, and I am a biologist (BS 1977, MS 1996). I am also a Roman Catholic Christian. Very early in my academic studies I learned that science was the search for the truth and that the natural sciences (physics, chemistry and biology) were the study of nature.
As a Catholic I have learned that my faith is also a search for the truth but a search for the truth beyond nature, in other words the truth of the supernatural. All of my life I have been searching for the truth and will continue to do so until I pass from this life.
There are two kinds of truth: Objective or absolute and subjective or relative. Objective or absolute truth is true at all times, in all places and in all situations. An example of objective truth is that the earth revolves around the sun. Subjective or relative truth is true in some situations, some places or at some times but not in others. An example of subjective truth might be: The sky is blue. This is obviously true on a clear day and obviously false on a cloudy day. In this blog I am far more interested in objective truth.
